“Learning together in Christ – Dysgu â'n gilydd yng Nghrist"
St Richard Gwyn is a welcoming and inclusive Catholic community guided by the teachings and example of Jesus. We promote the Gospel Values given to us by Jesus in the beatitudes: faithfulness, humility, truth, forgiveness, tolerance, dignity, service and respect.
Prayer life is very important at St Richard Gwyn. Throughout each day we pray together in lessons and assemblies, marking key events in the Catholic Calendar and responding to current issues. Pupils are encouraged to develop a deep sense of spirituality and morality and are supported in developing their relationship with God and one another.
We have our beautiful Chapel for formal worship and we also have our Emmaus Room, where our young people can sit, relax and reflect. We have regular voluntary weekly Masses as well as whole school Mass on special feast days.We are currently served by Father Fretch, our school chaplain, who is supported by our student and staff chaplaincy team. All pupils have the opportunity to take part in our whole school mission days and retreat days at Pantasaph. Each year group chooses their own charity to support as well as supporting the work of Cafod.
Our main aims, is to promote the formation of the person as whole so that they can maximise their God given gifts and talents and use them to serve others and make a positive difference to the world in which we live.
