Key Stage 3

Humanities in Year 7

In Year 7 pupils are taught history and geography together. The units studied are the impact of the Norman Conquest and life during the Medieval period, a local geography unit and a natural hazards unit.

History in Year 8

Pupils will study the Tudors and Stuarts and then the Industrial Revolution.

History in Year 9

Pupils will study a unit on Protest during 19th Century, Trans-Atlantic Slavery, Civil Rights in the USA, First World War.

History at KS4

Pupils will study GCSE history comprising of 4 Units:

  1. Depression, War and Recovery, 1930-51 (25%)

  2. Germany in Transition, 1919-1939 (25%)

  3. Crime and Punishment, 1500-Present (30%)

  4. NEA. First World War (20%)
