Safeguarding Statement

St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are committed to ensuring that consistent and effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support our young people, their families and all staff.

Any concerns regarding safeguarding should be passed to the Designated Senior Person (DSP) within school and these will be dealt with in line with the guidance set out in the All Wales Child Protection Procedures and afforded the appropriate level of confidentiality.

The DSP at St Richard Gwyn is Mrs. Julie Green who is supported by a team of other pastoral staff made up of both teaching and non teaching members.

St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School is committed to strong liaison with the Local Authority and a range of outside agencies in order to ensure the effective safeguarding of our young people.
